業界唯一のアンティーク時計専門雑誌として2012年に創刊した「ロービート（LowBEAT）」が、セイコーやシチズンなど国産メーカーの1950〜90年代のヴィンテージ品を専門に販売するECサイト「JAPAN VINTAGE WATCH SHOP」を、同誌の公式WEBサイトである「LowBEATマーケットプレイス」内に新たにオープンした。
“LowBEAT,” the industry’s only magazine specializing in antique watches, which was launched in 2012, has opened a new e-commerce site called “JAPAN VINTAGE WATCH SHOP” within the magazine’s official website, “LowBEAT Marketplace.” The site specializes in selling vintage timepieces from the 1950s through the 1990s by Japanese manufacturers such as Seiko and Citizen.
海外ブランドのヴィンテージモデルが高騰するなか、まだまだ手の届く価格帯にある日本ブランドのヴィンテージ時計。その魅力を少しでも多くの人に知ってもらおうと、国産腕時計研究家でありバイヤーとしても知られる本田義彦氏とのパートナーシップによって実現。LowBEATの編集をとおして培った経験を生かしてコンディションのいい良質な国産ヴィンテージを良心的な価格で提供するという。
While prices for vintage models from overseas brands continue to soar, vintage watches from Japanese brands remain within an affordable price range. To help as many people as possible discover their appeal, the company plans to leverage its experience—gained from actually seeing and handling numerous watches through magazine production—to offer high-quality, well-preserved Japanese vintage watches at reasonable prices.
そしてオープン記念として販売している時計が実にユニークだ。去る6月10日に発売し、わずか15日間で初版分が売り切れるという異例の大反響を呼んだLowBEAT発行の専門書『JAPAN VINTAGE SEIKO × BQ』に実際に掲載されたセイコーのヴィンテージ時計の現物が販売されているのだ。
And the watches being sold to commemorate the grand opening are truly unique. They are actual vintage Seiko watches featured in the specialized book *JAPAN VINTAGE SEIKO × BQ*, published by LowBEAT, which was released on June 10 and generated an unprecedented response—with the first print run selling out in just 15 days.
しかも実際に掲載された個体であることを証す、編集部発行の「掲載証明書」（下の写真）がすべての時計に付属する。いわゆるすべてがオンリーワンの貴重な1本というわけだ。
Furthermore, every watch comes with a “Certificate of Publication” (see photo below) issued by the editorial department, which certifies that the watch is the actual timepiece featured in the publication.
ヴィンテージ時計と聞くとどうしても敷居が高く感じるが、価格帯としては8万円台からと身近なアイテムも揃う。しかも、国産時計研究家の本田氏の協力のもと編集部が選んだ良質なコンディションの個体を厳選。現在は32本だが最終的には100本以上になる予定だ。なおすべてオーバーホール済みかつ保証付きなので初心者でも安心して購入できる点はうれしい。
While the term “vintage watches” might sound intimidating, there are actually affordable options available starting in the 80,000JPY range. What’s more, our editorial team—with the assistance of Mr. Honda, a Japanese watch expert—has carefully selected pieces in excellent condition. The collection currently consists of 32 watches, but we plan to expand it to over 100 in the future. All watches have been fully overhauled and come with a warranty, so even beginners can purchase them with confidence.
